Simplify Your Life: My 3 Core Rules for Success & Authentic Living | Dotcombaron

Live by my 3 rules: Respect, Resilience, Value

Hey everyone, I’m Dolan, and I’m coming to you live from Sofia, Bulgaria today. I just finished my daily calisthenics routine, walking around in my slippers in the bushes—you know, keeping it real. It’s a beautiful day, and I’m really done over here at the stadium, which got me thinking about today’s topic: keeping life simple.

I’ve been in this game of life for a long time—I’m almost 48 years old, operating in multiple countries, dealing with all sorts of people. And through all my experiences, from knocking on doors as an 11-year-old to being homeless three times, I’ve learned a lot about human behavior. I’m obsessed with it, actually. What I’ve realized is that life gets way much easier when you simplify things.

The Problem: Unfiltered Living and Complicated Rules

Before, I had a big, complex set of rules for how I lived, even charting them out on Pinterest years ago. But over time, I’ve narrowed it down significantly. The truth is, many people approach life with a chaotic, unfiltered mindset, letting just about anyone or anything influence them. This often leads to messy relationships, business failures, and a general lack of fulfillment.

People tend to hide their true nature until they feel comfortable. This can be dangerous, especially in business or personal relationships. If you can’t quickly assess who you’re dealing with, you risk being taken advantage of or worse. I’ve seen it all: gaslighting, shouting, teasing, even physical harm. It’s not just about obvious violence; it’s the subtle ways people mistreat others and animals that reveal their true character.

Furthermore, many people lack resilience. They give up after a few days of effort, get tired, or let emotional states dictate their actions. They don’t know how to solve problems or learn effectively, preferring to stick to comfortable, often ineffective, routines. And in business, many don’t understand how to genuinely market their value, resorting to scripted, inauthentic pitches that simply don’t work in the long run.

The Solution: My 3 Core Rules for a Resilient Life

I’ve distilled my life’s lessons into three simple, core rules that can be applied by anyone. These aren’t just about avoiding overt harm; they’re about understanding true character and building a foundation for success and authentic interactions:

1. Don’t Hit Women

This sounds very spartan, but it’s about much more than just physical violence. Hitting includes yelling, gaslighting, and teasing. If a man treats his own woman badly in these subtle ways, he’s likely to treat you poorly too. Weak men are often ‘for sale’ and will betray their partners the moment they’re away. I’ve learned that a person willing to cheat on their partner or treat them disrespectfully is not someone I want in my inner circle or business network. I’ve worked with people like that; they’re not trustworthy.

2. Don’t Hit Children

Children are brutal, and I’m not saying this lightly. But as adults, our role is to guide and protect. Hitting children, whether physically or emotionally through shouting or teasing, is a disservice to them. It reveals a lack of self-control and patience. When I visit new people, I always observe how they interact with their children. Do they scream at them? Do they teach them resilience or simply break their spirit? People who cannot control their own minds often take it out on those weaker than them, including their kids.

3. Don’t Hit Animals

This is a major red flag for me. It’s not just about physical abuse; it’s about mistreating them in any way—like scaring a sleeping cat or pulling a dog’s leg. Animals are innocent, and how someone treats them speaks volumes about their empathy and character. When an animal sleeps, it sleeps; when it eats, it eats. You, as their guardian, need to keep them at peace. If someone can’t even extend respect and kindness to an animal, they probably won’t do it for you, either.

Summary: Live by Action, Not Just Dreams

My three rules serve as powerful filters. They help me assess how far I can let people into my life, whether in business or personal relationships. It’s about operating fast and protecting your energy from negativity. Positivity requires courage, and negativity rarely leads to a good outcome. While self-defense is sometimes necessary, you can often ‘bend the situation’ to avoid escalation. I’ve been arrested for violence in the past, but now I prefer to say, ‘It’s better you’re going to stop now.’

I believe in action over mere affirmations. Putting motivational quotes on your wall is like dreaming in bed—it’s nice, but it won’t change your reality. For those who take action, who put in the work, and who understand value, the marketplace is waiting. You need a resilient mindset, disciplined work structures, and the courage to be authentic. That’s why I offer my uncapped, evergreen work structures for free, designed so even a 12-year-old can understand and start building value. You don’t need money to start, just time and commitment. Don’t play small; go all-in or don’t do it at all.
